Sometimes a "guide" to help the situation we need to consider the appropriate action. Here are ten steps to good ethical decisions. Them in a position to examine all possible options to use as your guide. In order to go through each step, and make sure you do this process on paper. Your answer may be very useful when you are writing about a particular decision may be in an emotional state. Pen on paper through the writing process on another human being directs his feelings!
1. Identify exactly what the problem is.
Where's the dilemma? Where does it stem from? Who is it? Write down everything that is part of the problem.
2. Identify the purpose.
What is your purpose in solving this problem? What do you want? Its objective is total customer satisfaction? Peace in the workplace? Their children's happiness and success? Anyway, the purpose of writing.
According to Dr. Charles Garfield, a goal, or objective, is a dream with a deadline. Without a deadline, you've got time to wish and desires??
3. As you can brainstorm as many alternative solutions.
Think logically, DO, and practicality as you can possibly several solutions for this situation is not found in your way.List. Later you can always get rid of impractical ideas. But until you check out a wide variety of alternative solutions, then you really really can not get clear on where you want to go.
4. List the facts you know what, and what you do not know.
Do you know about this situation?Others for their input, other companies, other institutions may be necessary to ask, you need all the information can make the best choice possible.
It has been my experience that 9 times out of 10, did not you know it was important to make a better decision!
5. Those who will be affected by this decision and identify the principles involved.
In your company who will be affected by this decision? Who are your customers? Your family and / or who in your community? List all affected individuals and institutions. Then make a second list of the principles involved in the decision. On what basis is it decided? The company's mission statement? Values statement? Personal code of ethics? Customer satisfaction? Bottom line? What are the key values and principles in this decision?
6. Lists the pros and cons of each solution option.
For each solution, the inherent risk in using this particular type of option. Possible cost to you, your colleagues, what are your company? Exposure to the next, for each solution as well as a list of benefits. Completely, make sure you address all possible risks and benefits, as many as you can list.
7. Importance of each solution and will likely list it.
How important to you, your company, or your community that would have made that choice? And looking at each alternative solution, chances are it will come to you? What is the chance you'll lose customers? Opportunity to reduce the size of the solution and people will lose their company as a result will cause your job is? What is the market opportunity will change? Each solution is carefully weighed. What is the importance of choice, and chances are it will be?
8. List your reasons for choosing each solution.
From my perspective, CEO, sales manager, as head of sales, parents, friends - the case what would be your reasons for choosing this particular option? Each solution is designed for you to list your intentions.
9. List your priorities and preferences.
If you had your way, if you want to work out the whole thing? What is yours when it comes to this decision?
10. Now, looking at your answers to # 1-9, decision.
Keeping in mind everything you've written, to make decisions that seem to suit the needs of the situation. Let it be your very best shot, after all, the best we can do our best.
Following these ten steps to help us to use reason over emotion when it comes to moments in our lives difficult. Likely to make a better decision after a clear discernment much, much more is always more effective.
